Simon Hudson

Simon Hudson, Chief Executive

Simon has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years and has always believed in independent advice. He was the Technical Director and then Development Director of a large IFA firm until the formation of The M&E Network in 1992. In January 1999 a new company was formed, Tenet Limited (now called Tenet Group Limited) of which Simon is the Chief Executive.

Simon is also a qualifying and Life Member of Million Dollar Round Table.

He is married with three children (two sons and a daughter) and his interests are gardening, travel and family.


Geoffrey Clarkson

Geoffrey Clarkson, Director, Group Director (Regulation & Risk), Company Secretary and Solicitor

Geoffrey Clarkson is a UK Solicitor with extensive experience in the financial services industry within the United Kingdom and in off-shore jurisdictions.

Currently Geoffrey is a main board Director of the Tenet Group, one of the largest distributors of retail financial services products in Great Britain and elsewhere in the European Union. For several years he has been closely involved in the successful development of the group through both acquisition and new business creation.

Geoffrey has both an honours degree in law and a masters degree, the latter in European law and awarded by the University of Exeter. His career began with the London and Manchester Group plc where he had a number of senior positions, ultimately as Director responsible for the group's distribution arm. Other directorships included The 1928 Investment Trust plc, London Trust plc and HSBC Global Securities Limited before Geoffrey joined a major law firm in the south of England where he specialised in financial services law. There he became an adviser to the London Stock Exchange, a frequent speaker at conferences and an active participant in the development of web-based financial services in Ireland and mainland Europe.

More recently Geoffrey was appointed to an FSA committee involved in the development of a new regulatory approach to retail financial services. He has also created a captive insurance company in Guernsey specialising in professional indemnity insurance and been appointed to the board of the National Skills Academy.


Peter Lane

Peter Lane, Commercial Director

Peter is an Oxford graduate, who joined Tenet in June 2002 as Commercial Director, with specific responsibilities for investor relations, assessing investment opportunities and group strategy.

Peter started his career with Lloyds bank and their graduate management training scheme in 1989. He progressed through their corporate relationship business to their venture capitalist business (Lloyds Development Capital) in October 1994. This contributed to their Leeds operation, where Peter worked, winning the, 'Yorkshire Insider' Venture Capital Firm of the year award in 2001.

In January 2001, Peter joined Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity and was responsible for both their biggest deal since the mid-1990s, and for developing the value in Tenet. This helped Peter achieve runner up in the, 'Yorkshire Insider' Young Venture Capitalist of the year, 2002.

Peter is 41 and married with five children.


Mike O'Brien

Mike O'Brien, Managing Director of TenetConnect & TenetSelect

Mike has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Prior to joining Tenet, Mike had spent the last several years working in the US, where he was Chief Operating Officer of Old Mutual's US life Operations and also Chief Executive Officer for Mid-America Agency Services.

Mike's originally joined Tenet in December 2009, as RDR Programme Director and in July 2010 was appointed to the role of Managing Director of TenetConnect and TenetSelect.


Gemma Harle

Gemma Harle, Managing Director of Tenetlime

Gemma has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years with experience at both Mortgage Lenders and Distributors. She was Head of New Business at Mortgage Trust for 12 years and then moved to Mortgage Next and became Managing Director in 2005. In March 2010, Gemma joined the Tenet group as Managing Director of Tenetlime with overall responsibility for the non investment proposition. Gemma sits on the Tenet Ltd board.

Gemma has two children (a son and a daughter) and her interests are cycling, travel and family.


Alison Longbottom, Marketing Director

Alison is the most recent addition to the Tenet Board after joining in June 2009, and leading the Group's brand strategy and transformation to a more simplified, customer-centric organsiation, putting clients at the heart of everything it does.

She has over 20 years' experience in developing and leading a number of UK's high profile financial services brands, including Bradford & Bingley, John Charcol and Mortgage Express. Over the last 5 years she was Head of Marketing at Bradford & Bingley responsible for brand & communications strategy for 500+ retail branches, online channels and its financial services arm.

She has an honours degree in Biology and is a Chartered Institute of Marketing graduate. Her main achievement in life, though, are her 2 children, Ellie and Sam.

Alison is passionate about the consumer and delivering insightful marketing that engages customers without the use of unnecessary jargon or dull approaches so prevalent in the financial services industry.


Mike McGaughrin

Mike McGaughrin, Group Services Director

Mike joined Tenet Group as Group Services Director in 2006 after over 25 years' financial services experience in senior operational roles, including Operations Director for Mortgages at Bradford & Bingley plc and as Operations Director at DLA Direct LLP, a major volume legal processor. Prior to that, Mike spent a number of years developing the operational capability of Mortgage Express, the specialist intermediary mortgage lender. He began his career in international banking with Standard Chartered Bank PLC, during which time he worked in corporate banking and information systems, including extensive business travel to Asia, Europe, Africa and USA.

Mike's role in Tenet encompasses responsibility for IT, HR, operations, customer services, compliance operations and change management.


Keith Richards

Keith Richards, Group Distribution & Development Director

Keith is Group Distribution & Development Director for the Tenet Group. He is responsible for the development of Tenet's investment and non-investment propositions, as well as other business initiatives across the group, which also includes the support of alternative distribution models, Provider Services Programme and Group PR.

Keith has over 27 years' experience within financial services, and has operated at a senior level in various roles spanning both manufacturing and distribution. He is actively engaged in the promotion of financial services within the UK, a key spokesperson for the group and represents the intermediary sector on a number of panels.


Mark Youngman

Mark Youngman, Finance Director

Mark Youngman joined Tenet in January 2008. He is registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales as an FCA.

An honours graduate, Mark qualified in 1984 with a well known Yorkshire practice. On qualification he moved to Price Waterhouse and in 1986 he then took a role as financial controller with one of their blue chip clients Courtaulds plc - Courtelle Division. Courtelle was a large manufacturing business with over 3,000 employees and factories throughout Europe. In 1996 he moved to ISA International plc, one of the largest computer consumable distribution companies in Europe and in 2000 was promoted to Finance Director of their UK business. Shortly after this business was acquired by a NASDAQ company to become a part of the largest distributor of computer consumables in the world, Mark continuing to perform the role of UK FD.

Mark is married and enjoys a range of sports.
